Fanttik

Fanttik F2 Master Mini Cordless Rotary Tool Kit

Cleans up support scars and rough holes without setting up a big tool.

Best for 3D-print finishingsmall sanding and detail work

A pen-sized rotary tool for the finishing jobs where a full-size one is overkill: support scars, rough holes, blobs in corners. Its real advantage is size — it can stay next to the printer, so a 20-second cleanup actually takes 20 seconds instead of a trip to the tool drawer.

Pro tip Run it on the lowest speeds for PLA. Plastic softens fast under a spinning bit, and at high speed you smear the surface instead of cutting it.

Why we like it

  • ✓Small enough to live next to the printer, so a quick cleanup stays quick
  • ✓35 accessories on a rotating magnetic stand — burrs, drills, grinding and polishing tips
  • ✓5 speeds, so you can run it slow on plastic

Keep in mind

  • !Takes 3/32" (2.3 mm) bits only — standard 1/8" rotary bits won't fit
  • !Battery is sealed and not replaceable
  • !Built for detail work, not heavy material removal

NEIKO

NEIKO 01407A Digital Caliper, 0–6 in

Tells you if the problem is the filament, the flow or the design — to 0.01 mm.

Best for Checking filamentcalibrating printsdesigning parts that fit

The tool that turns 3D printing from guessing into measuring. You check whether your filament is really 1.75 mm, whether that calibration cube came out 20.00 or 20.30, and how much clearance a snap-fit needs before you print it five times.

Pro tip Measure filament in three or four spots along the spool, not once. If the diameter wanders more than a few hundredths of a millimeter, that’s your inconsistent extrusion — not the slicer.

Why we like it

  • ✓Reads to 0.01 mm, enough to see a bad flow setting in a single printed wall
  • ✓One button switches between mm, inches and fractions
  • ✓Stainless steel body with a thumb roller and locking screw

Keep in mind

  • !Tops out at 150 mm (6 in) — longer parts need a bigger caliper
  • !Accuracy is ±0.02 mm: right for printing, not for machinist work

Hakko

Hakko CHP-170 Micro Flush Cutter, Pink

Snips supports flush with the surface, so there's far less left to sand.

Best for Support removaltrimming filamentsmall electronics wiring

A flush cutter is one of the most common tools to keep next to a printer. Supports, brims, stringy blobs and the ragged end of the filament all get one clean snip, and because the back of the jaw is flat, the cut sits flush with the part instead of leaving a little stub you have to sand off later.

Pro tip Before loading new filament, cut the tip at a steep angle. The pointed end slides past the extruder gears and into the hotend much more easily than a blunt, bent end.

Why we like it

  • ✓Flush cut leaves nubs level with the part instead of a ragged stub
  • ✓Spring opens it back up after each cut, which helps on long cleanup sessions
  • ✓Small 8 mm jaw with an angled head gets into tight corners

Keep in mind

  • !Rated for soft wire and plastic only — hard or steel wire will nick the jaws
  • !Small jaw means thick supports and wide brims take several bites

Creality

Creality Clog Poke Nozzle Cleaning Tool

Pushes a jam out of the hotend from the top — no teardown.

Best for Clearing clogsfilament jamshotend maintenance

Most clogs aren’t in the nozzle tip — they’re a plug of plastic stuck higher up the filament path. This is a long, stiff 1.5 mm rod with an arrow tip shaped to match the nozzle, so instead of poking a thin hole through the jam it pushes the whole plug down and out. For a lot of everyday jams, that can replace a full hotend teardown.

Pro tip Heat the hotend to printing temperature before you poke. You want to push soft plastic out, not force steel through a cold, hard plug.

Why we like it

  • ✓Can save you from taking the hotend apart to clear a jam
  • ✓1.5 mm arrow tip fills the 1.75 mm filament path, so it pushes the whole plug out
  • ✓210 mm long, enough to reach down through the extruder

Keep in mind

  • !Only for printers that use 1.75 mm filament
  • !Pushes from the top only — it doesn't clean the tiny nozzle opening itself

Layerneer

Layerneer Bed Weld Original 3D Printing Adhesive

First layers stay down while printing, then let go when the bed cools.

Best for First-layer adhesionwarping printseasy part removal

A liquid bed adhesive that works with temperature instead of against it: while the bed is hot, it helps the part hold on so corners don’t lift, and once the bed cools to room temperature the part is designed to release without tools. The foam tip spreads a thin coat without spills, and one coat is good for several prints.

Pro tip Let the bed cool all the way before you take the part off. The release happens at room temperature — pull it while it’s still warm and you’re fighting the glue.

Why we like it

  • ✓Designed to hold while the bed is hot and release when it cools
  • ✓One coat lasts several prints, and a wet sponge brings it back
  • ✓Water soluble and low odor; wipes off with water

Keep in mind

  • !Not for every build surface — check the maker's compatibility chart first
  • !Works through bed heat, so it's made for printers with a heated bed
